Description
There are several different species of anacharis on the market today. Some provinces have restrictions on the common anacharis (elodea densa). Egeria najas is legal. Najas is a pretty bright green and grows the same as elodea densa, although not as hardy and may not survive winters in the North. It is a fast growing submerged pond plant that competes with algae for nutrients, helping keep the water clean and clear. A popular choice for School Science Projects where Elodea species are illegal.
